There's a Monster at My Door

THERE'S A MONSTER AT MY DOOR Knock! Knock! Knock! There's a monster at my door, he arrived the other day. At first he started tapping -- "Stop that noise! Go away!" But yet he still persisted, still tapping at my door. Until the taps grew louder--and louder still more. The taps they were persistent, increasing in frequency, And the darkness as a fog, still tries to follow me. The fog drops ever lower and encompasses me 'round about. And the taps grow ever louder--"Won't someone let me out!" My cries begin to grow in (their) intensity--but no one hears me now, Save for him who tortures (follows) me. His taps grow ever stronger--almost knocking down the door. My cries grow ever louder--and still--even more. The monster starts a laughin'--filling me with dread.
